Minutes of a Meeting of Broomfield Parish Council
held on Tuesday 6th September 2016, 6.30 pm, Broomfield Village Hall

Present: Cllr Duncan Henderson (Chairman), Cllr Michael Kingscote, Cllr Paul Trolley, Peter Hall (Clerk), 5 Members of the Public.

1) Apologies for absence:
Cllr Robert Sharpe

2) Co-option of new Councillor:
The Clerk stated that there had not been a request for an election and Sedgemoor DC had confirmed that the Council could co-opt a replacement for Jan Johnston who had resigned at the Annual meeting. The Chairman proposed that Mrs. Rebecca MacDonagh be co-opted and this was agreed unanimously. Mrs MacDonagh signed the Declaration of Acceptance of office and joined the committee.

5) Harvest Supper:
The Chairman stated that he was holding a meeting of interested parties to organise this year’s harvest supper on Friday 7th October and proposed that the Council make a financial contribution of up to £250. This was agreed.

6) Urgent Matters to Report:
The Chairman reported that he had received a request from Barrie Harding of 121 Turnaround to use Broomfield Common for teaching survival skills to students. He would invite Mr. Harding to the next meeting.

7) Public Forum:
A parishioner reported that the Moto-X track at Cobbs Cross Farm was no longer in use and the land reverted back to agricultural purposes. She also informed the Council that 20 acres of land was for sale at Rooks Castle.
