7. Village Hall – update
Cllr Aras reported that the Big Breakfast event went well with around £400 raised. Upcoming events include Harvest Supper, Soups & Puds, Pumpkin Competion.
8. Update on progress on change of conditions of use of Village Hall car park
Clerk has been in contact with Sophie Fitzgerald of the National Trust, who will be providing written feedback later this week.
9. To receive a report on Quantock Cluster meeting
Cllr Aras reported on issues raised at the meeting, including poor broadband service. LARC has funding available for projects that can be completed by December 2011. PC Jacobs on long term illness. Request to circulate Council meeting dates to Ainslie Ensor of Nether Stowey Parish Council. Steart Peninsula and Hinkley Point discussed. Broomfield suggested as a meeting location for a summer meeting.
10. Update on progress on new gate for Broomfield Hill Common
Cllr Odgers has taken this on.
11. To adopt new Standing Orders
It was proposed, seconded and voted unanimously to adopt the new Standing Orders.
12. To discuss Sedgemoor’s proposals for joint funding of local services
Information on draft framework of funding of local services from Sedgemoor distributed. Decided that there was no effect on services to Broomfield at this stage.
13. To discuss Quantock AONB parish liaison initiative
Proposal outlined by Chair. Vision is for a network of individuals from Parishes who culd act as a community network, linking to and from AONB. Will update as it progresses.
14. Finance
- Payments for the quarter
The payments for the quarter were considered. It was proposed, seconded and voted unanimously that the payments be approved.
- Quarterly financial report
Quarterly financial report presented to the Council.
- To approve new signatories for the bank accounts
It was agreed to add Cllr Pearson as a bank signatory.
15. Urgent matters for report only
Reported on break in at Fyne Court car park. Walkers’ rucksacks stolen. Police informed and sting operation mounted; arrest has been made.
Quantock Orienteers meeting on Broomfield Common 2nd October and 4th December.
Details of waxcap fungi survey received, Clerk to circulate.
Clerk resigning, effective 31st October 2010. Chair interviewing possible replacement next week.

It was reported that Rooks Castle currently has 3 residents, all quiet at present.
